Dhaka-3 MP and BNP Standing Committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy today said he does not engage in politics to seek ministerial positions, urging party colleagues not to offer him “consolation” over cabinet roles.
“No one should try to console me. I'm not involved in politics to become a minister. I contested to become a representative of the people,” Gayeshwar said while speaking at a discussion meeting in Keraniganj this afternoon.
He also called on the administration to maintain professionalism, warning that there was no need to go beyond the law for party leaders and activists.
“If this happens, I will go to parliament and mention names directly,” he said.
