Bangladesh have been drawn in Group B alongside hosts Uzbekistan, India and Syria in the qualifiers for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup following the draw held at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) headquarters in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.
The qualification matches will be held between August 25 and September 6, with Bangladesh set to play all their matches in the Uzbek capital Tashkent. Bangladesh will begin their campaign against Uzbekistan before facing Syria and India.
The eight group champions and the seven best runners-up from the qualification stage will advance to the final round of the tournament in China next year, while hosts China have already secured automatic qualification.
Bangladesh head into the qualifiers with confidence after recently winning the SAFF U-20 Championship. The young side defeated India in a tiebreaker in the final to emerge as the best team in South Asia.
