Actress Sabila Nur, who grabbed attention last year with her debut film “Taandob”, is set to return to the big screen this Eid with “Bonolota Express” — a star-studded film directed by Tanim Noor, known for his acclaimed work “Utshob”.
Sabila plays the central character “Chitra” in the film, which is based on Humayun Ahmed’s novel “Kichukkhon”. In a recent interview with Channel i, the actress expressed strong confidence about the project, saying the film is not an art film but rather a complete package of romance, comedy, and tragedy — everything that draws audiences to the cinema hall.
“But it doesn’t follow the conventional song-and-dance formula. The story is its greatest strength. I believe fans of Humayun Ahmed, as well as those who watched ‘Utshob’, will definitely come to see this film. All things considered, I think this film has great potential,” she said.
Describing her character, Sabila explained that Chitra is outwardly quiet and composed but inwardly rebellious and a sharp observer. She speaks little yet closely watches every person and situation around her, with her liveliness surfacing unexpectedly in spontaneous and meaningful ways.
“Chitra boards the Bonolota Express with a specific purpose, but the events, encounters, and conversations along the journey gradually reshape that purpose. The train journey ultimately steers her thoughts, beliefs, and decisions in an entirely new direction,” the actress said.

She also noted that viewers will get to see several intriguing exchanges between Chitra and the characters played by Mosharraf Karim (Rashid Uddin) and Shariful Razz (Dr Ashhab).
The film’s shooting has already been completed. Besides Sabila, the cast includes Mosharraf Karim, Shariful Razz, Chanchal Chowdhury, Zakia Bari Mamo, Shamol Mawla, Intekhab Dinar, and Azmeri Haque Badhan.
Earlier this week, Sabila gave fans a glimpse of her look by updating her fan page profile picture with the caption: “Your Chitra ✨🩷 #BonolotaExpress #ThisEid.”

Readers of the novel flooded the comments with excitement, with one fan writing that Chitra is her all-time favourite character from "Kichukkhon", and another saying she simply cannot wait to see Chitra come alive on screen.
