Newly appointed United States ambassador to Bangladesh Brent Christensen was sworn in at the United States State Department in Washington, marking the beginning of his new diplomatic assignment, the US embassy said on Saturday morning.
‘I am thrilled to return to Bangladesh, a country I know so well. I am excited to lead a great team at embassy Dhaka, Americans and locally employed staff alike, to enhance US-Bangladesh relations, advance president Trump’s agenda, and work hard every day to make America safer, stronger, and more prosperous.’ ambassador Brent Christensen said after the sworn-in on Friday.
The US Embassy in Dhaka is pleased to welcome the new envoy, said a statement issued by the US Embassy here.
As a special invitee, visiting Bangladesh’s national security adviser Khalilur Rahman attended the swearing-in ceremony of Brent Christensen held at the State Department, according to the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington.
