Apple has acquired MotionVFX, a Poland-based company that develops plug-ins, templates, and visual effects tools for Apple's Final Cut Pro video editing software, according to an announcement from MotionVFX.

The company, founded in 2009, offers subscription packages starting at $29 per month for access to professional-grade editing tools, graphics, and templates, states a report by TechCrunch on the matter. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed by either association.

MotionVFX said on its official website that it is joining the Apple team "to continue to empower creators and editors to do their best work." MotionVFX also thanked its customers and supporters, saying they helped shape its products over more than 15 years.

The acquisition is expected to help Apple better compete with Adobe Premiere Pro and the broader Adobe Creative Cloud suite, explains the TechCrunch report. Integrating MotionVFX's capabilities directly into its offerings could attract more subscribers to Apple's recently launched Creator Studio bundle.

Introduced in January, Creator Studio packages creative apps, including Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, Compressor, and MainStage, into a subscription costing $12.99 per month or $129 per year. It also includes premium content for Keynote, Pages, and Numbers.
