Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Porwar has called on party leaders and organisers to exercise caution and responsibility while using social media.
He said the party must navigate both external and internal challenges while running the organisation and addressing the country's crises.
Porwar made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a three-day training camp for district- and city-level party leaders. Organised by Jamaat's Rangpur-Dinajpur region, the event was held in Syedpur of Nilphamari, according to a press release.
Porwar said there was no alternative to practising ideals and maintaining good conduct to enhance the acceptability of leaders.
He said everyone must remain extra cautious while using social media, as any mistake or irresponsible behaviour could affect the organisation's image.
He also stressed the need to understand people's problems, prioritise public welfare, and show tolerance and wisdom when handling differences of opinion.
The programme was presided over by Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim, also director of the party's Rangpur-Dinajpur region.
Maulana ATM Masum, assistant secretary general of the organisation, made a presentation on different topics at the event.
