PGR members positioned in front of hospital's car park, near Khaleda Zia's cabin
Special Security Force (SSF) and President's Guard Regiment (PGR) were deployed at Evercare Hospital this afternoon for the security of BNP chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia, who is undergoing treatment there.
Hospital and party sources said seven SSF officers, along with PGR officers, took charge under VVIP protocol from 2:20pm today.
PGR members have positioned themselves in front of the hospital's car park, while senior officers of the unit are stationed on the fourth floor near Khaleda Zia's cabin.
Officials have yet to confirm how many personnel will be deployed at the hospital or provide details of the full security arrangements.
Earlier, the government had declared Begum Khaleda Zia a "very very important person" (VVIP)
Khaleda Zia has been receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka for several days due to a number of health complications.
