Amirul Islam scored another hat-trick as Bangladesh held South Korea to a 3-3 draw in their second Pool F match of the 14th FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium in Chennai, India, on Sunday.
Bangladesh came from three goals down to draw with Amirul scoring in the 36th, 46th, 56th minutes from penalty corners.
Earlier, South Korea took a 3-0 lead with Lee Minhyeok (8th, 17th) and captain Son Seunghan (13th) scoring also from penalty corners.
Earlier, in their two encounters Bangladesh defeated South Korea U-21 team 2-0 before losing to them 3-1 in the Men’s Junior Asia Cup in 2015 and 2023, respectively.
Earlier on Saturday, despite Amirul’s hat-trick Bangladesh lost 5-3 to Australia in the first match.
Amirul received the player of the match award in both games.
Bnagladesh will face France in their final pool match at the same venue on Tuesday.
