Justin Bieber has joined the lineup for the 2026 FIFA World Cup final half-time show, which will take place on July 19 at the tournament’s championship match in New York.

The Canadian pop star will perform alongside Madonna, Shakira and K-pop group BTS in the first Super Bowl-style half-time show in FIFA World Cup history.

The 11-minute performance will also feature Burna Boy, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus alongside Coldplay, and the “Sesame Street” Muppets. The show will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise US$100 million for children’s education worldwide.

“The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can,” Bieber said.

Earlier this year, Bieber made his long-awaited return to the stage at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California, marking his biggest live performance in four years after cancelling his Justice World Tour because of health issues.

During the performance, the 32-year-old revisited several of his biggest hits, including “Baby”, “Never Say Never”, “One Time” and “Beauty and the Beat”, in a set that drew heavily on nostalgia.

The World Cup half-time show is being curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin as part of FIFA’s partnership with Global Citizen.

Shakira and Burna Boy, who performed during the tournament’s opening celebrations across the three host nations, will also return to the stage. Their World Cup anthem, “Dai Dai”, has topped music charts and become a fixture throughout the tournament since its launch on June 11.
