Apple is preparing to release iOS 27 with a more capable version of Siri, expanded camera-based intelligence, and additional controls designed to protect younger iPhone users, according to a recent report by Apple-based news platform 9to5Mac.

Apple is testing beta versions of the operating system ahead of its final release, says the report. One of the principal changes is expected to be ‘Siri AI’, which will use Apple Intelligence to make conversations with the assistant more natural and allow it to respond using a better understanding of a user’s personal context.

Apple is also expanding Visual Intelligence in the new iOS. Users will be able to point an iPhone camera at an object or scene and request information about it, including identifying plants, objects, or details about food. Parental controls are also being strengthened, with more detailed restrictions covering apps, websites, content, and screen time.

Other planned changes include AI-assisted image editing, updates to Safari and Messages, and refinements to Apple’s Liquid Glass interface.
