Nevronus Systems has recently launched a commercial artificial intelligence-powered retinal diagnostic system.
According to a press release, the system, known as the Lunera Fundus Cam, has been developed by Lunera Eye Care, the medical technology arm of Nevronus Systems. It combines a portable retinal imaging device with a mobile application to analyse retinal images and identify conditions including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration within seconds.
The device captures retinal images and generates automated diagnostic reports using on-device AI, with data synchronised to the cloud when connectivity becomes available, states the press release.
