Seven Bangladeshi cricketers will go under the hammer as the mini-auction for the 19th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) takes place today in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Among the listed Bangladeshi players, only left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman has prior experience in the IPL. The other six players are Rishad Hossain, Shoriful Islam, Rakibul Hasan, and Taskin Ahmed, Nahid Rana, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib.

Mustafizur, 30, has been placed in the highest base-price bracket of INR 2 crore, while uncapped Rakibul, 23, has been listed in the INR 30 lakh category. The remaining five Bangladeshi players have been slotted into the INR 75 lakh base-price bracket.

According to media reports, the IPL is likely to be held between March 15 and May 31. As Bangladesh have series lined up against Pakistan and New Zealand during that period, questions have arisen regarding their full availability for IPL.

However, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) cricket operations in-charge Shahriar Nafees said the board will give "maximum consideration" for players if they get picked for the IPL, adding that the home series against Pakistan in March–April is likely to be rescheduled.

"Since the dates of the Pakistan Super League clash with the Pakistan series, we will probably change the schedule after discussions," he added.

A total of 1,390 players have registered for the IPL mini-auction and following scrutiny, 350 players were shortlisted in the final list, comprising 240 Indian cricketers and 110 overseas players.

A maximum of 77 players can be bought in this auction, with franchises allowed to fill up to 31 overseas slots.
