The government has barred the use of “His Excellency”, “Honourable” and other honorifics before the titles of the president, prime minister, ministers, state ministers and deputy ministers in official communications and documents.

The directive takes effect today, according to a circular issued by the Cabinet Division.

It asked all government ministries, divisions and their subordinate offices to implement the decision immediately.
