OpenAI has hired Denise Dresser, CEO of the messaging platform Slack, to serve as its new Chief Revenue Officer.
In the role, Dresser will oversee the company's global revenue strategy, including its enterprise business and customer support operations. She joins from Slack, where she led the company following its acquisition by Salesforce. Prior to that, she spent over a decade in global sales leadership at Salesforce.
OpenAI stated the appointment comes as companies increasingly shift from piloting AI tools to relying on them across their entire organisations. The company cited internal data indicating that 75% of workers using its AI report improvements in work speed or quality, with many saving 40 to 60 minutes per day. The data also suggests AI is enabling employees to complete new types of tasks.
In a statement, Dresser said she looked forward to bringing her experience in scaling major platforms to OpenAI as it focuses on enterprise growth.
