Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Ameer Maulana Mamunul Haque today said those campaigning for "no" vote can be seen as standing against Bangladesh and siding with fascism.
He made the remark while addressing an election rally in Golapganj upazila in Sylhet, campaigning for the 11-party alliance candidate for the Sylhet-6 constituency and Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka North Ameer Muhammad Selim Uddin.
Mamunul said that people must remain vigilant so that no one can take a position against the country in the coming days.
Addressing the rally as chief guest, he said, “The alliance wants to build a Bangladesh based on religious harmony, including Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians, and pledged that religious minorities would no longer face oppression.”
If the 11-party alliance comes to power, there would be no extortion from workers, traders, or people building homes, and no interference in livelihoods, he said.
He also said, “People are frustrated with extortion and violence-based politics and voters now want to see an Islam-oriented political alternative.”
Earlier in the day, Mamunul arrived in Sylhet on a helicopter to attend a series of rallies in different upazilas in Sylhet and Sunamganj.
