Rifat Risan, the Dhaka University correspondent of Channel One, was allegedly attacked by supporters of Sharif Osman Bin Hadi while gathering news about Hadi being shot at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The incident occurred around 2:30pm on Friday. Rifat Risan is a student of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Dhaka University from the 2022-23 academic year.

He told Dhaka Tribune that upon receiving news of Osman Hadi being shot, he quickly went to Dhaka Medical College Hospital to cover the story. There, several people in front of the emergency department prevented him from recording video.

"When I asked why they were stopping me, they attacked him. I later escaped with my life thanks to the help of another journalist who was nearby."
