Two schoolchildren were killed and another was injured in a road accident in Doulatpur upazila of Kushtia district on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Rahmat, 14, son of Hekmat Ali, and Sahabi, 14, son of Aminul Islam, both residents of Chouhaddipara village in the upazila. They were students of Daulatkhali High School.

The accident occurred around 8:30 am when the motorcycle carrying them crashed into an electric pole as its driver lost control, killing two students on the spot and injuring another, said Arifur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Doulatpur Police Station.

The injured student was taken to Kushtia General Hospital for treatment.
