Three of Bangladesh’s most celebrated actors — Dilara Zaman, Abul Hayat, and Dolly Zahur — have come together in a television drama for the first time. According to the makers, the production carries an awareness-building message centred on both the positive and negative impacts of technology and the internet.

Titled “Dadi Bhoyonkor”, the drama has been written and directed by Rahat Kabir, with filming already completed.

Speaking about the story, Rahat Kabir said, “The internet has both positive and negative sides. We can choose to use it for good, but it can also be misused. The drama highlights both aspects. However, its primary focus is on inspiring people to make constructive use of technology.”

Abul Hayat expressed his enthusiasm about the project, saying, “I truly enjoyed working on this drama. Bringing together several senior artistes in a single production is very difficult, and the director has managed to do that successfully.”

Dilara Zaman said, “Technology is making our lives more convenient, but at the same time it is also creating new risks. The drama aims to raise awareness about those issues. I thoroughly enjoyed acting alongside everyone. It reminded me of the days of ‘Shesh Potro’ again and again.”

Dolly Zahur also reflected on the experience, saying, “Many years ago, the four of us worked together in a production directed by Abul Hayat bhai. Sadly, Sharmili apa is no longer with us. Working alongside Dilara apa and Hayat bhai again is something I cannot adequately express in words.”

In addition to Abul Hayat, Dilara Zaman, and Dolly Zahur, the cast includes Nader Chowdhury, Corovi Mizan, Arosh Khan, and Priyontee Urbee.

The drama is scheduled to premiere soon on a YouTube channel.
