To welcome the Bengali New Year, a variety of celebrations are taking place across the country. Various programmes will also be broadcast on the country’s television channels.
BTV: The magazine show "Chawa Pawa" will be broadcast at 5:40 pm. At 6:30 pm, there will be a self-written poetry recitation programme titled "Boishakh Dey Dak", followed by a musical programme at 7 pm
At 9 pm, another self-written poetry recitation show, "Mon Aake Boishakhe", will be aired. A special telefilm titled "Moner Manush" will be shown at 9:30 pm. At 11:15 pm, there will be a Baishakhi dance programme.
Photo: CollectedIn addition, BTV will broadcast live the New Year celebrations organised by Chhayanaut at Ramna Batamul, a cultural programme organised by JASAS (Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha), and the Pahela Baishakh procession from University of Dhaka.
NTV: At 12:20 pm, modern and modern folk songs will be presented by Kishore, Priyanka Biswas, Apu Aman, Nolok Babu, Layla, and Sanjida Rimi, hosted by Ayesha Khan.
At 5:30 pm, Anika and Rockers will perform a solo segment, hosted by Mousumi Mou.
Maasranga Television: Since 9 am, the Boishakhi festival has been being broadcast live from Edward College in Pabna. The musical lineup includes performances by Nagar Baul James, Imran Mahmudul, Aishi, and the top three artistes from "Magic Bauliana 2025”. Dance performances will feature Mandira Chakraborty and the Sohag Dance Troupe. The programme will be hosted by Indrani Nishi and Alif.
At 10:30 pm, the single-episode drama "Jani Dekha Hobe" will be aired, directed by Mahmud Mahin and starring Yash Rohan and Tanjin Tisha, among others.
Deepto TV: Since 10:15 am, the film “Raat Jaga Phool”, directed by Mir Sabbir, has been airing. The cast includes Mir Sabbir, Jannatul Ferdous Oishee, Dilara Zaman, Abul Hayat, Sharmili Ahmed, and Fazlur Rahman Babu.
At 2:30 pm, the film "Dohon", directed by Raihan Rafi, will be shown, starring Siam Ahmed, Puja Chery Roy, Zakia Bari Mamo, and Fazlur Rahman Babu.
Duronto TV: The programme "Boishakh Elo Re" will be aired at 12 pm and 8 pm. The show features choreographed performances set to various New Year songs and poems performed in playback.
The drama "Hoi Hoi Holla: Season 3" will be broadcast at 9 pm. In this episode, children plan to take their grandfather, Safdar Chowdhury, to their village home to celebrate the Baishakhi festival. Directed by Partha Pratim Halder, the cast includes Abul Hayat, Shahnaz Khushi, and child actors Afra, Sayan, Riddhi, Turjo, and R Jooni, among others.
At 12:30 pm and 4:30 pm, the Pahela Baishakh special cooking show "Banai Mojar Khabar Ma Baba Aar Ami: Season 3" will be aired. Directed by Amina Naushin Raisa and hosted by culinary expert Afifa Akhtar Lita.
At 6:30 pm, the musical programme "Ronger Khelay Surer Bhelay" will be broadcast.
