The Bangladesh Coast Guard arrested two alleged drug traffickers with 75,000 yaba pills in Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday.
A press release, signed by BCG media officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq and issued on Wednesday, said that acting on a tip-off, a special team from coast guard station Teknaf conducted an operation at around 1:00pm in the Naf River near Nightongpara under Teknaf police station.
The team intercepted a wooden boat, searched it, and recovered the pills, worth about Tk 3,75,00,000, along with detaining two suspects.
The seized boat and narcotics, as well as the arrested, were handed over to Teknaf model police station for legal action.
