US President Donald Trump has said that Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a ceasefire, expressing confidence that it would mark another diplomatic success under his leadership.

“It has been my Honor to solve 9 Wars across the World, and this will be my 10th,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

In the same post, Trump said he had held “excellent conversations” with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, adding that the two countries had agreed to begin a ceasefire at 5:00pm EST.

According to Trump, the agreement aims to achieve “peace between their countries”.

He also said that Israel and Lebanon recently held their first meeting in 34 years in Washington, DC, alongside US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
