Rapper-turned-mayor Balendra Shah's Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is leading in 77 constituencies across Nepal in early vote counting, reports The Kathmandu Post. 

Nepali Congress has won one seat and is leading in eight others, while CPN-UML is ahead in seven constituencies.

Nepali Communist Party candidates hold the lead in six constituencies.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Shram Sanskriti Party are leading in one constituency each.

More than 3,400 candidates ran for 165 seats in direct elections to the 275-member House of Representatives, the lower chamber of parliament, with 110 more chosen via party lists. 

Turnout was 59 percent, says AFP.
