Three friends, including two Saudi Arabia expatriates, were killed after a passenger bus collided head-on with their motorcycle in Faridpur's Bhanga upazila yesterday evening.

The deceased were identified as Chayan Molla, 23, who was riding the motorcycle, and pillions Siam Molla, 23, and Nayan Hossain, 21, said Azadur Rahman, a sergeant at Bhanga Highway Police Station.

The crash occurred around 7:00pm near the Naopara bus stand in Bhanga municipality on the Dhaka–Barishal highway.

Chayan died on the spot, while Siam and Nayan succumbed to their injuries around 10:00pm in an ambulance in Keraniganj while being taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Police said Chayan had returned home from Saudi Arabia during Eid-ul-Azha leave, while Siam had come back from the Gulf country about 20 days ago. Nayan worked as a motorcycle courier in Nagarkanda.

According to police, the three had travelled to Bhanga in the afternoon and were returning home when an unidentified bus struck their motorcycle.

“We have not yet traced the bus. We are trying to identify it,” Azadur said, adding that legal proceedings are under way.
