The government has changed the Bangladesh Police dress code, reinstating the previous light olive and dark blue shirts, which were changed just seven months ago during the interim government.

However, the new dress code also introduces khaki pants for all personnel for the first time since 2004.

The decision was announced on Thursday in a gazette notification signed by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Ali Hossain Fakir, following the amendment of police dress rule 2025.

According to the notification, district police and other units will wear dark blue shirts, while metropolitan police units will wear light olive-coloured shirts. Trousers for all personnel will be khaki.

The revised uniform policy will not apply to the Armed Police Battalion (APBn), Special Security and Protection Battalion (SPBn), Special Branch (SB), Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and Rapid Action Battalion (Rab). Their existing uniforms will remain unchanged.
