Snapchat said on February 25 that it will hold its first awards ceremony, titled “The Snappys”, on March 31 at the company’s Santa Monica headquarters.

The event will be hosted by comedian and content creator Matt Friend. The company said further details, including nominee lists, will be released in the coming weeks. The awards will be presented in a live format, bringing together creators and industry figures. Music producer and performer DJ Khaled is expected to attend and will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.

According to Snapchat, the event is intended to recognise creators who have built audiences and influence on the platform. Awards will include titles such as Spotlight MVP, Best Storyteller and Breakout Creator of the Year, alongside honours across categories including fashion, beauty, sport, music, food and gaming. Additional awards will focus on collaboration, comedy and cultural impact.
