E-ticketing has been introduced on Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation’s women-only “Pink Bus” service, with POS-based ticketing now available on 14 buses operating in Dhaka, Chattogram and Bogura.

The service, implemented with technology support from Shohoz Limited, allows passengers to purchase tickets on board using point-of-sale machines.

The initiative was formally launched at the Tejgaon BRTC Bus Depot. Shohoz said the system was designed to make ticketing faster, more organised and transparent for passengers.

As the e-ticketing partner, Shohoz is providing the technology and implementation support. Its teams have also trained conductors on operating the POS devices, issuing e-tickets and handling related ticketing procedures.

The service currently covers 14 women-only buses across the three cities. The initiative forms part of efforts to expand technology-based ticketing and passenger services in Bangladesh’s public transport system.
