Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami spent Tk 23,91,86,934 last year, exceeding its income by Tk 23,62,795, according to the party's financial statement submitted to the Election Commission (EC) today.

The statement shows the party earned Tk 23,68,24,139 during the 2025 calendar year.

Jamaat's total assets stood at Tk 15,49,44,428 at the end of the year, including Tk 7,51,13,065 in cash and Tk 7,98,31,363 in bank deposits. At the end of 2024, the party's assets were Tk 15,73,07,223.

Asked why expenditure exceeded income, Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Ehsanul Mahboob Zubair said, "We did more work last year, so the expenses were higher."

On the party's sources of income, he said, "Our leaders and activists regularly donate and pay subscriptions. Secondly, our well-wishers contribute. Thirdly, we earn from various publications."

Explaining the expenditure, Zubair said office management accounted for a significant portion of the costs. "Besides that, meetings, assemblies, leaders' tours and large public rallies involve significant expenses," he said.
