A total of 2,518.66kg of gold were seized from smugglers between 2010 and 2024, Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury told the parliament today.

He disclosed the figure while responding to a question from Farida Yasmin MP during the question-and-answer session at the Jatiya Sangsad this afternoon.

Farida Yasmin had asked about the amount of gold, gold bars and other metal items confiscated from smugglers between 2010 and 2024.

The finance minister said 377.39kg of silver was also seized during the same period.
