Chattogram Division batter Jillur Rahman Bejoy struck his maiden first-class century to help his side post 270 for six against Rangpur Division on the opening day of the sixth round of the National Cricket League (NCL) in Cox's Bazar on Monday.

Bejoy remained unbeaten on 105 off 188 balls, hitting 10 fours, and shared a 148-run fourth-wicket stand with skipper Yasir Ali, who made 77 off 140 deliveries. The pair lifted Chattogram from a precarious 66 for three and carried them to a strong position at stumps after being sent in to bat.

Rangpur's pace duo Rabiul Haque (3-49) and Mehedi Hasan (2-48) claimed five wickets between them.

At the Sylhet Outer Stadium, Mymensingh Division found themselves struggling at 160 for six after opting to bat against Barishal Division. However, Abu Hider Rony smashed an unbeaten 86 off 64 balls, featuring six fours and seven sixes, while Al-Amin added an unbeaten 70. Their unbroken 120-run seventh-wicket partnership lifted Mymensingh to 280 for six at stumps.

At the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, half-centuries from SM Meherob Hasan (56) and Rahim Ahmed (51 not out) helped Rajshahi reach 236 in their first innings after being sent in to bat. Nabil Samad picked up four wickets, while pacer Abu Jayed claimed three for Sylhet.

Sylhet ended the day on 35 for two, trailing by 201 runs.

In Khulna, despite skipper Mohammad Mithun's 59, the home side were bowled out for just 194 after choosing to bat first against Dhaka Division. Sumon Khan and Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby took three wickets each for Dhaka.

Dhaka closed the opening day on 64 for one, trailing by only 130 runs.
