The government has appointed journalist Kazi Jesin as the director general (Grade-1) of Bangladesh Television (BTV) on a contractual basis for one year.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on Thursday, signed by Golam Robbani, deputy secretary of the ministry.

According to the notification, issued under Section 11(2) of the Bangladesh Television Authority Act, 2001, Jesin’s appointment will be effective from the date of her joining.

The appointment is conditional on her severing all ties with any other profession, business, government or semi-government body, private organisation, or institution, the notification said.

It added that other terms and conditions of the appointment would be determined through a contract.
