The annual general assembly of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Dhaka South was held on Wednesday at the Gulshan Club in the capital, marking a significant transition in leadership for 2026.
During the ceremonial event, Md Naeem Haider was formally announced as the Local President of JCI Dhaka South for 2026.
The program featured the formal handing over of the presidential chain from the outgoing president and current immediate past local president, Kazi Motahazzad Billah, to the newly elected leader, Md Naeem Haider.
The assembly was attended by JCI Bangladesh national president Arefeen Raafi Ahmed, alongside national officers, past presidents, and distinguished community leaders.
In his remarks following the transition, Md Naeem Haider expressed his firm commitment to strengthening youth leadership and enhancing business networking opportunities.
He further emphasized his dedication to implementing impactful community development initiatives throughout the year to foster sustainable growth within the Dhaka South region.
The newly formed board for 2026 includes Mahbubur Rahman Tarique as local executive vice president, while Niaz Hasnat Shaon, Syed Nabil Ahmed, Md Hadiuzzaman Hadi, and Zeenat Sultan will serve as local vice presidents.
The administrative and financial functions of the chapter will be managed by local secretary general Minhaz Uddin Ahmed Shanto and local treasurer Dr Mohammad Ali.
Legal and operational oversight for the term will be provided by general legal counsel Kazi Nishat, while Mohammad Baijed takes on the role of local training commissioner.
The leadership team also includes Md Shakhawat Hossain as JCI In Business (JIB) chairperson and local directors Syed Rashidul Imam Ashik, Emmanuel D Rozario, and Fuad Hossain Chowdhury.
Md Zahidul Islam will serve as executive assistant to the local president for the 2026 tenure.
Under the theme "Lead. Connect. Evolve," JCI Dhaka South remains dedicated to providing development opportunities that empower young active citizens to create positive change as a core chapter of JCI Bangladesh.
