The International Crimes Tribunal-2 (ICT-2) today sent former minister Abdul Latif Siddique to jail after showing him arrested in a crimes against humanity case over the May 5, 2013, Shapla Chattar crackdown.
The three-member tribunal, headed by Justice Nozrul Islam Chowdhury, passed the order following a petition filed by the prosecution.
Latif Siddique was produced before the tribunal in compliance with an earlier order.
A team from the Detective Branch (DB) arrested him from his Gulshan home yesterday.
He was brought to the tribunal around noon today before being shown arrested and remanded to jail.
