Police have recovered the body of a businessman who had been missing for three days, buried at a property in Dhaka’s Lalbagh.

An operation began late on Thursday at a five-storey building on BC Das Street. Early on Friday, police dug up the ground beside the building’s ground floor and recovered the body.

It was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The dead man was identified as Sheikh Wasim Rony.

Police have arrested his friend Masum in connection with the case, bdnews24.com reports

Lalbagh Division Deputy Commissioner of Police Talebur Rahman said Rony’s relatives filed a general diary with Lalbagh Police Station on September 8 after he went missing.

During the investigation, police detained Masum.

“Later, following Masum’s directions, Rony’s body was recovered from behind his house, buried under sand,” Talebur said.

Police said Masum owns a factory at the site where the body was recovered.
