Four people were killed when a pickup van hit a parked truck in Shakhipur, Tangail.

The accident occurred at approximately 5:00am on Tuesday in the Kalia area of the Shakhipur-Sagardighi road.

The names and identities of the deceased were not immediately known.

Shakhipur police station officer-in-charge Helal Uddin confirmed the deaths.

He stated that a pickup van carrying chickens struck a truck loaded with bamboo that was parked in the Kalia Ghonarchala area of the upazila at around 5:00am.

Consequently, all four people in the pickup van died at the scene.

The bodies have been recovered and transported to Shakhipur Police Station. Efforts are underway to identify the deceased, and the bodies will be handed over to their families upon completion of the legal process.
