Filmmaker Vicky Zahed is set to make a new romantic thriller titled “Pulsirat”. The film will be produced by SVF Alpha-I Entertainment Limited.

The director has officially signed an agreement with the production house, and the film’s title has already been registered with the Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association.

Speaking to Prothom Alo, Shahriar Shakil, managing director of SVF Alpha-I Entertainment Limited, said that the makers are considering Afran Nisho and Mehazabien Chowdhury for the two lead roles. Discussions with both actors are currently underway, though the casting has not yet been finalised.

Vicky Zahed has previously worked with the Afran Nisho–Mehazabien Chowdhury pairing on several popular dramas and web films, including “Chirokal Aaj”, “Punorjonmo” and “Redrum”. In addition to directing “Pulsirat”, Zahed is also writing the screenplay, with the first draft already completed.

Meanwhile, Mehazabien Chowdhury has recently signed on for the web series “Cactus”, a Chorki original directed by Shihab Shaheen. She has also appeared in films such as “Saba” and “Priyo Maloti”.

Afran Nisho, on the other hand, has starred in films including “Surongo” and “Daagi”. He was last seen in Vicky Zahed’s series “Aka”, released toward the end of last year. Zahed is also planning to begin work on the second season of “Chokro” later this year.
