A new political platform, Gonobiplobi Udyog (People’s Revolutionary Initiative), was launched today, based on the ideology of the July mass uprising.

The platform was formally launched by five representatives at the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) today.

The five are: Arif Sohel, former joint member secretary of National Citizen Party (NCP); Khan Muhammad Mursalin, former joint chief coordinator of NCP; Tanjina Tammim Hapsa, assistant general secretary (AGS) of Dhaka University’s Bangladesh-Kuwait Maitree Hall union; Abdullah Salehin Ayon, a former leader of Students Against Discrimination (SAD); and Farzana Akter Charulata.

Talking to The Daily Star, Gonobiplobi Udyog representative Mursalin said the platform’s primary objective is to unite leaders and representatives of the July uprising under a single umbrella.

He said that membership is open to all, with around 50 members currently registered, and a website is being launched to allow the public to share opinions and engage formally with the initiative.
