Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) to check up on an army officer critically injured in a tank-firing accident during a field exercise in Hathazari, Chattogram.
The prime minister visited the hospital in the afternoon and enquired about the physical condition of the patient, according to a press release issued by the Prime Minister's Office.
Tarique wished the injured officer a speedy and full recovery and instructed the authorities concerned to ensure proper treatment. He also spoke to the officer and members of his family.
The incident happened on Wednesday during a Bangladesh Army field-firing exercise in Hathazari, when a tank was firing shells.
Two army personnel were killed in the accident, while the officer sustained serious injuries. He was later admitted to CMH for better treatment.
Tarique also expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of the two army personnel and conveyed his condolences to their families.
