Cloudflare has recently announced Kitesurf, a new web browser built specifically for AI agents rather than human users.

Running entirely on the company’s Workers platform, Kitesurf strips away human-focused features like tabs, themes, and pixel-perfect rendering to reduce CPU and memory consumption for automated tasks such as page extraction, screenshots, and agent-driven browsing.

According to the company, the browser is available now in beta through Cloudflare’s Browser Run service at no cost, subject to per-account limits. It supports the Chrome DevTools Protocol, so existing automation tools and AI agents can use it with a simple parameter change. A public playground with DevTools panels lets developers inspect page rendering, console messages, and resource usage.

Kitesurf is not yet suitable for video playback, WebGL, persistent sessions, or sites with bot-challenge protections; Cloudflare advises using its standard Chromium-based browser for those workloads. The company said the project began twelve weeks ago and that it is actively improving compatibility and performance.
