Two teenagers were killed and two others were seriously injured after a brick-laden truck plunged into a roadside ditch in Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria this morning.

The accident occurred in the Mandarpur area on the Tinlakh-Charghach regional road under Badair union.

The deceased were identified as Masuk Mia, 18, and Arman Mia, 17. Both were residents of Baishyamora village in Sarail upazila.

Abdur Rahim, sub-inspector of Kasba Police Station, said the truck was transporting bricks from Charghach when the driver lost control of the vehicle in Mandarpur area. The vehicle veered off the road and plunged into a roadside ditch.

Masuk and Arman, who were travelling on top of the truck, died on the spot, the police officer said.

The truck driver and his helper suffered serious injuries. Locals rescued them and took them to Brahmanbaria General Hospital for treatment.

Police said the bodies had been sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
