Police arrested Navana Group Vice Chairman Sajedul Islam Shuvro from his residence in Dhaka's Banani area this morning.

Sajedul was arrested during a police raid at a house in Block D around 7:00am, said Mahbubur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station.

"There was an arrest warrant against him. He was arrested based on the warrant and sent to court this morning," the OC told The Daily Star.

Police alleged that law enforcers faced obstruction while entering the building and that security personnel did not cooperate during the operation, which began around 11:00pm yesterday.

The details of the case under which the warrant was issued could not be immediately confirmed.
