KM Awlad Hossain has been appointed managing director of Bengal Commercial Bank with effect from July 1, 2026.

Prior to his new appointment, he served as the bank’s additional managing director and chief business officer concurrently, according to a press release.

Awlad joined Bengal Commercial Bank as deputy managing director and chief business officer in 2021. He has played a key role in helping the bank achieve its business goals since its inception.

Before joining Bengal Commercial Bank, he served as deputy managing director of Dutch-Bangla Bank PLC.

He began his banking career as a senior officer at Agrani Bank PLC.

Over his 33-year banking career, he has gained extensive experience in branch banking, foreign trade, corporate banking, business planning, and the implementation of strategic plans for centralised operations while working at various banks.

Awlad obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics from Jahangirnagar University and an MBA from North South University.
