Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) has partnered with Shikho Technologies to launch a financial inclusion initiative aimed at expanding access to both banking and digital education services, particularly in semi-urban and rural areas where students still face limited access to quality online learning.
M Khorshed Anowar, deputy managing director and head of retail and SME banking of EBL, and Shahir Chowdhury, chief executive officer of Shikho Technologies Bangladesh, signed the partnership agreement in Dhaka recently.
Under this collaboration, EBL’s women banking and family customers will receive a 20% discount on Shikho’s interactive digital courses, which align with the national curriculum and support school and college learners through live classes, smart notes and AI-driven assessments.
Sarmin Atik, head of liability and wealth management, Tanzeri Hoque, head of priority and women banking, Marilyn Bristi Gomes, senior manager, Abdullah Tahmid, manager, women banking of EBL; and Ishmam Ahmed Chowdhury, chief operating officer, HM Shahriar Mahmud, lead, performance marketing and growth of Shikho Technologies, were also present.
