The Ministry of Education appointed Professor Md Amir Hossain as the new vice-chancellor of Jamalpur Science and Technology University on Saturday.

This follows an appointment made on 14 May, when the ministry had named Professor Mohammad Amir Hossain Bhuiyan, of the Department of Environmental Sciences at Jahangirnagar University, as the VC of the same institution.

Additionally, on Saturday, Professor Borhan Uddin of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Jahangirnagar University was appointed as the treasurer of Dhaka Central University.

On the same day, the government released Professor M Mahfuzur Rahman from his position as pro-vice-chancellor of Jahangirnagar University.

The Secondary and Higher Education Division under the Ministry of Education issued separate circulars regarding these appointments and personnel changes on Saturday.
