The 13th National Parliamentary Election is being held today, Thursday, February 12. Like the rest of the country, the showbiz arena is also witnessing the buzz surrounding the vote. However, fans may be disappointed to learn that two of Dhallywood’s leading actors, Shakib Khan and Arifin Shuvoo, are unable to cast their votes this time as they are currently abroad due to shooting schedules and personal reasons.
Shakib Khan, a voter of the Dhaka-17 constituency, is now in India for the shooting of his film “Prince”. Although he cast his vote at the Model School polling centre in Gulshan during previous elections, he could not return to the country this year despite wishing to do so.
According to Kaler Kantho, Shakib Khan tried to arrange his schedule to vote, but with Eid approaching, continuous day-and-night shooting commitments made it impossible for him to come back in time.

Meanwhile, actor Arifin Shuvoo, a voter of the Dhaka-11 constituency, is currently in the United States and is also unable to exercise his voting rights. Another Dhaka-17 voter, actress Jaya Ahsan, is abroad as well, and it remains uncertain whether she will return before the election concludes.
