Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy organised “Humayun Ahmed Smaran”, a special event honouring the life and work of celebrated writer and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed at the National Theatre Hall on June 5.
The programme featured a keynote presentation on Humayun Ahmed’s artistic vision by film researcher Dr Shahadat Ruman. Filmmaker Dr Matin Rahman, Md Mizanur Rahman, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, and Shilpakala Academy Director General Rezauddin Stalin also spoke about his contribution to literature, television and cinema.
Filmmaker Nuhash Humayun attended the event and shared emotional reflections on his father’s legacy. He said, “People consider my father part of their family. As a son, it is a wonderful feeling.” 
Nuhash also spoke about his father’s dedication to writing, recalling how he would work for hours with intense focus and constantly rewrite his work until satisfied. He also provided an update on his upcoming film, “Moving Bangladesh”.
The event included screenings of “Srabon Megher Din”, “Ghetuputra Komola” and a documentary on Humayun Ahmed, followed by performances of songs from his films.
