The month-long Dhaka International Trade Fair concludes on Saturday.

Even on the final day, traders are hopeful for good sales. However, this year they lost three days of the fair due to a period of national mourning. Participants also claimed that adverse weather and the impact of the elections affected business in the early days of the fair.

Originally, the fair was scheduled to open on January 1, but due to the death of Khaleda Zia and the subsequent national mourning, it was inaugurated on January 3 at 10:30am at the BICEF building in Sector 4, Purbachal. This year marked the 30th edition of the Dhaka International Trade Fair.

The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) reported that compared to last year, the number of visitors and buyers increased by at least 15%. VAT collection also rose by 8%. Although weekdays saw comparatively fewer crowds, weekends witnessed a large turnout.

On the final day, discounts at each stall and pavilion range from 10% to 70%. In addition, customers have the chance to receive special prizes and gift vouchers with their purchases.
