The Directorate General of Health Services on Friday asked six government hospitals in Dhaka to provide immediate and appropriate treatment to patients referred from Ad-din Women’s Medical College Hospital following the cancellation of the hospital’s licence.
The directive was issued through an office order signed by Abu Hossain Md Moinul Ahsan, director of Hospitals and Clinics at the DGHS.
According to the order, the licence of Ad-din Women’s Medical College Hospital in Moghbazar was cancelled on June 11.
Considering the potential health risks to patients, the DGHS instructed the designated hospitals to ensure prompt and uninterrupted treatment for those referred from the facility.
The hospitals named in the directive are Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Sir Salimullah Medical College Mitford Hospital, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital, Mugda Medical College Hospital, Kurmitola General Hospital, and Bangladesh Shishu Hospital and Institute.
The DGHS said the measure was taken to ensure continuity of healthcare services and safeguard the well-being of patients affected by the closure of the hospital.
