A mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-7) yesterday fined Tk 12 lakh to One Plus cable company in Sadarghat area of Chattogram city for manufacturing substandard electric cables without a BSTI license.

Rab-7's Executive Magistrate Abu Hasan and Commanding Officer Lt Col Hafizur Rahman led the drive from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

"The inspection revealed that the company had been manufacturing cables below fire safety standards and without a BSTI license. The mobile court seized a huge amount of substandard cables and fined the company Tk 12 lakh," said the executive magistrate.
