From growing up in a small village to becoming one of Bangladesh's most respected actors, Mosharraf Karim has built his career through years of discipline, persistence and honesty. His journey — marked by theatre training, television success and recognition on both sides of the border — is now the focus of a special podcast episode airing this weekend.

In the latest episode of the podcast "Behind the Fame with RRK", Mosharraf Karim shares lesser-known stories from his personal and professional life. The 102-minute episode will be broadcast on Maasranga Television and Radio Dinraat 93.6 FM at 8 pm on Saturday, December 27, and is hosted by Rumman Rashid Khan.

One of the most talked-about moments in the episode is Mosharraf Karim's reflection on his decision not to accept the National Film Award in 2018. He was announced as Best Comic Actor for his performance as Mofizur in the film "Komola Rocket", despite playing a central role in the story.

At the time, his decision sparked debate in the film industry. Speaking on the podcast, he finally explains why he chose not to accept the award, saying he felt the category did not reflect the nature of his performance.

In a lighter moment, the actor also speaks humorously about his limited cooking skills. "All I can cook are eggs — fried eggs, poached eggs and boiled eggs," he said, adding that he once learned how to steam eggs from YouTube but has since forgotten how to do it.

Mosharraf Karim recalls participating regularly in cultural programmes during his school years, held every Thursday from January to April. He also worked briefly as a child performer in jatra theatre, experiences that shaped his early interest in acting.

After moving to Dhaka, he became deeply involved in theatre, where he learned what he describes as the most important lesson of his life from his mentors: to be an honest human being before aspiring to be an artist.

The actor also addresses irresponsible behaviour on social media, criticising the tendency to share unverified information. "People write many things without checking facts, and later much of it turns out to be wrong," he said. "Why make yourself smaller in your own eyes?"

The podcast is produced by Z I Faisal and features Mosharraf Karim speaking candidly about different phases of his life, his thoughts, and the values that continue to guide his career.
