Junior Chamber International (JCI) Dhaka Sparks concluded its 2025 general assembly and election meeting at a ceremony held at The Ascott Palace.

The event marked a smooth and democratic transition of leadership, with Raihan Ahmed Dip elected as local president for the 2026 administrative year.

The general assembly brought together members, advisers, and guests to reflect on the organization’s activities over the past year and set priorities for the year ahead.

The election was presided over by the 2025 immediate past local president and election commissioner, Sumaya Mahmud Sharna, and conducted in full compliance with JCI’s constitutional bylaws and the newly adopted election policy.

With quorum duly established, members elected the new executive board through acclamation, demonstrating strong confidence in the incoming leadership.

Junior Chamber International (JCI) is a global leadership organization operating in more than 110 countries, uniting young active citizens aged 18 to 40 who are committed to creating positive change in their communities.

Aligned with this global mission, JCI Dhaka Sparks continues to focus on leadership development, professional growth, and community-driven initiatives that prepare young people to address both local and global challenges.

The evening was further distinguished by the presence of two notable guests: Tajdin Hassan, chief business officer of The Daily Star, and Shuvasish Bhowmick, a prominent Bangladeshi influencer actively involved in carbon emission reduction initiatives.

Their participation highlighted the growing collaboration between youth leadership platforms, the media, and sustainability-focused advocacy in Bangladesh.

Adding national significance to the occasion, the 2026 national president of JCI Bangladesh Arefeen Raafi Ahmed extended congratulated the newly elected board through a video message from the United States, encouraging the team to lead with vision, responsibility, and impact.

The oath-taking ceremony was led by outgoing Local President Shaiful Islam Akash, who formally inducted President Dip and the members of the 2026 board.

In recognition of their dedication and service, crests were presented to the 2025 board members, advisers, and the guests.

In his inaugural address, president Raihan Ahmed Dip outlined a clear and forward-looking agenda for the year ahead. Built on three core pillars—empowering through action, connecting for impact, and building a legacy—his vision emphasizes moving beyond discussion to execution.

He announced plans for an investment summit aimed at attracting international business opportunities to Bangladesh, alongside initiatives designed to deliver tangible benefits for the community and meaningful practical experience for members.

He also emphasized strengthening engagement with alumni, partners, and the national JCI body to ensure long-term sustainability and growth.
